The goal of the automated speed enforcement program is to slow down drivers and to date, the program has been successful, said Steve van De Keere, the Region’s director of transportation. The Region has collected $93,463 from those tickets. The Region has issued 2,673 tickets since the speed camera program began last October, says a report coming before a regional planning and works committee on Tuesday.
